A new project on the easel!

This is the cover art to a new fantasy novel by C.Parker Garlitz and Jason F.Smith.

The book is entitled, “Bystle Vale” and is the first in a seven part series of novels.
The scene depicts the hero as he roams an ancient forest.

This is the “cartoon” as it currently resides on several taped-together sheets of tracing parchment.
The grid you see is used to scale up my drawing from from a digital sketch I prepared and presented to the publisher for approval.

I then took some photo reference to use for the main character.

This is why you see me in a hooded sweatshirt and a bed sheet.

Stylish, no?

The next step will be to transfer the drawing to Strathmore 500 illustration board ( vellum finish) using graphite paper.

Stay tuned for the next stage of development!
